Primal 4×4 jeeps have many advantages, especially in rough terrain. These jeeps have all four wheels powered at the same time, increasing traction. If one of the wheels gets stuck, it can use the other wheels to pull the car out. Similarly, if the vehicle is in an accident, its 4-wheel drive system will help the other wheels to push the car out of trouble.
INNOVATION IN THE 4X4 SYSTEM
Active Drive system: Some 4×4 systems can detect when the front wheels are slipping and automatically change the traction mode. The Cherokee has this system. It also comes with a low-range function and a 56:1 crawl ratio. It also has a neutral model for flat towing.
History of Jeeps: The Jeep brand of vehicles was born during WWII, when the U.S. Army asked over 100 automakers to design and build light reconnaissance jeeps. Three of them responded and were awarded the contract. They then adopted the Jeep trademark. The 4×4 jeeps used by the GIs in WWII were well-received. Even after the war, Jeep 4x4s continued to serve as military vehicles.
Jeeps come in a wide range of prices. These cars are available in two different configurations – two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive. The two-wheel drive versions are more comfortable in light and wet conditions, while the four-wheel drive vehicles are more capable on rough terrain.
